Getting ready for college takes a lot of planning and hard work. We are dedicated to helping our students navigate this process in hopes that they leave our school feeling educationally, personally, and financially prepared to move on to the next step. Click on the links below to see more information.

Educational Preparedness

  • Meeting graduation requirements and achieving your personal best GPA.

  • Taking the ACT  – December 13, 2026 & February 14, 2027 (Highland Academy)

  • Taking the ACT  -Spring – Week of April 20, 2027 for all Sophomores and Juniors (Seniors Optional)

  • Check with your College of choice for ACT score requirements.

    All freshmen through seniors have access to ontocollege.com where they can begin studying and watching videos to prepare for their best score possible on the ACT. Plus we have an ACT Prep class.

Career Day

Personal Preparedness

  • Meeting with your school guidance counselor for personalized assessments.

  • Taking the ASVAB Career Readiness Profile – September 21, 2026 (Juniors only)

  • Choosing a college or trade school that fits YOU!

  • Attending the college fair and career day.

Financial Preparedness

  • Filling out the FAFSA. - Meeting with Southern Adventist University on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 11am on campus for students and parents. (even if you are not attending SAU)

  • Applying for scholarships.

  • Being an active part of your high school. Stay involved in leadership roles if possible. Many scholarships are available to those students who have made a difference or stood out in some way.

  • Achieving your personal best GPA. Higher grades mean higher scholarships.
